The Regional Human Resources Manager (RHRM) works with Home Office HR and Field Leaders (e.g., Regional Managers, District Managers, Store Managers) to drive HR and operational deliverables. The RHRM advises leaders on talent, organizational succession planning, associate relations, and performance management related decisions. The RHRM, in partnership with Home Office HR and cross-functional business partners, assists in creating and driving processes that align with the business and drive bottom line results. Location can be based in any of the following: NY, Boston, DC, Atlanta and Florida.

 

 

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

Management Development/Coaching:

  • Consult with field management providing HR guidance when appropriate
  • Provide day to day performance management guidance to field management re; coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions
  • Identify training needs for division and individual coaching needs. Act as an internal mentor and coach for ongoing leadership development and internal performance management
  • Support the ongoing learning & development efforts in the Region by ensuring development plans are put into place at the Management level and ongoing training is happening at all levels.

 

Talent Management/Learning:

  • Conduct analysis of talent pipeline to ensure there is a constant flow of talent and back- up (both internal and external) to all Store Manager/DM and highly visible positions. Is seen as the talent expert within region
  • Constantly challenge development plans to ensure upward mobility of population. Execute learning initiatives and make recommendations for ongoing training needs.
  • Regularly facilitate District and Regional meetings in partnership with DMs/RM. 
  • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follow-up to ensure training objectives are met.

 

Associate Relations:

  • Manage and resolve complex associate relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations
  • Actively work with Associate Relations and Business Leaders to investigate high risk associate concerns and take action consistent with company policies and practices
  •  Act as an internal consultant for all Associate Relations issues including formal corrective actions, terminations, harassment/discrimination investigations and other policy related issues
  • Track data to develop and implement proactive solutions after analyzing the root cause of Associate Relations issues within assigned market.

 

Communication/Cultural Stewardship:

  • Work closely with management and associates to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention
  • Enforce a positive environment based on open- communication, teamwork and trust
  • Work with peer group to establish consistent practices across Regions reinforcing a company culture based on the core values of honesty, accountability, integrity and respect.

 

Business Analysis:

  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR Home Office to develop solutions, programs and policies
  • Provide guidance and input on business restructures, workforce planning, succession planning.

 

Compliance:

  • Maintain in depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of associates, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliancE
  •  Partner with legal department as needed/required. Provide HR Policy guidance and interpretation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Organizational Development or related field

  • 5-7 years of progressive HR experience with a min. of 2 years in Human Resources Management role 

  • Knowledge of federal, state and local labor laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of HR practices including associate relations, talent management, performance management, and learning & development. Canada experience is a plus.

  • Experience in multi-state, multi-site operation with customer service emphasis; retail experience a plus

  • Experience in using and educating business partners in HR practices. Presentation and training experience preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Microsoft Word, Excel and PPT. Proficient in iCIMS or other ATS, Workday and Kronos.

  • SHRM certification a plus
  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to travel in assigned areas up to 50% of the time and to and from the Corporate Office with little notice

  • Able to adapt to a fast pace ever changing environment
